This pillar contributes substantially to achieving the European Cohesion Policy objectives.

Specifically, it contributes to

·     A greener Europe by promoting sustainable energy in PA 2

·     A more connected Europe by promoting mobility on the Danube river (PA1a) as well as via rail, road and air (PA1b)

·     A Europe closer to the citizens by supporting an integrated approach across the PAs and through projects within the PA 3 Culture & Tourism.

Further this pillar is crucial in supporting three new strategic objectives of the EUSDR:
